Brooklyn Historical Society
Details:
- Housed in a Queen Anne-style building with a rare terra cotta façade built in 1881 and located in Brooklyn Heights, the landmarked Brooklyn Historical Society (BHS) provides several ideal settings for evening weddings, ceremonies and cocktail receptions as well as corporate and other special events. BHS also offers a unique backdrop for professional photo and film shoots. Original hand carved woodwork, detailed sculpted busts, the Minton tile floors and a beautiful stained glass laylight are just a few of the elegant architectural details found throughout the historic building. Elegant columns and soaring ceilings are the focus of BHS’ striking first floor space, which provides the perfect setting for a wedding reception, sit-down luncheon or dinner and cocktail reception. BHS also offers its Othmer Library, a rare New York City interior landmark library and the jewel of the building, as a spectacular venue to host an intimate ceremony, dinner or cocktail party.
- Aside from the approved caterers list, the client is welcome to choose any other vendor (photographer, musician, performer) for the space rental. BHS is considered a “BYOB” venue and clients can purchase their own alcohol at cost, with insurance liability provided. BHS also provides a state of the art audiovisual system. WiFi access and in-house furniture for all your event needs. The building is fully ADA accessible
